Can you hike with a newborn? Is it safe? 👇🏻 Hi I’m Shoshannah I’ve hiked a lot through my life I love it. When I had my first child I didn’t get into hiking much until they were almost 2 I wasn’t ready for it, it was also a c section birth. My section was quite different I had been hiking and staying as active as I could before and during the pregnancy. After baby was born I waited until the 6 week check up then we did a couple of overnight hikes and some day trips and even did a day skiing 🫢

Nothing like a good sweat up a mountain to get the cobwebs and crankiness out I definitely need more of these days in my life to help me survive 🙈 I always have kids in tow. They had to go everywhere with me so it felt such a treat when a friend had them so I could get out on my own As a single parent, the obstacles and hurdles to get over whenever I want to do anything is so challenging , juggling work kids and my own self-care - just to get out for a run is exhausting. I can’t just go for a r

Life is all about balance and honestly some days. I do feel like superwoman when I’m smashing life and everything is just going well. Those days are actually the ones I’ve had sleep or I have extra help and support. The days where I don’t have much sleep when I’m bleeding when I’m tired and burnt out I struggle. I’m tired. I just want to give up. It’s about finding a healthy balance. Some days we need rest and what I found was modelling. Rest days to my kids means that they are learning to have

Saving money Saving time Having food on the grow when you need it My garden is full of fruits and veg and we have chickens laying which really helps with some costs although buying the chook food is $$$ they are great at recycling what my fussy kids won’t finish It really helps having a garden it means I can stretch supermarket trips out by topping up from the garden and also buying in bulk when stuff is on sale is very helpful. I know I could go a good month or maybe even threee without needing

What a beautiful epic adventure this was! My first multi night trip with my kids alone in about a year! Which is kinda wild time has flown by. I was so nervous as I had sepsis 5 months ago and I was worried how my physical health would hold up but we broke the trip up over an extra day so we could cruise. While challenging it wasn’t too challenging for my current health and carrying a baby and pack is a total of 35 ish kgs for this trip so going any faster would be a not thanks 🤣🫣 Part 1 is no

Mum needed a little getaway it felt like such a treat doing whatever I wanted but also overwhelming and a little stressy wanting to make the most of the time but also being damn tired so I did a couple of little adventures and hikes then rested a lot always having to remind myself that resting and doing nothing is also productive 🙈😅🌿🫶🏻 If you had three days to do whatever you wanted what would you do? If I’d had enough spare cash I’d have stayed in a hotel or the likes and really treated my

You know what cured my ADHD? Absolutely nothing. Because it’s not something that needs to be cured. ADHD is how my brain is wired. It’s not broken. It’s not wrong. It just works differently — and when I stopped fighting it and started working with it, things began to shift. What actually helped me wasn’t trying to “fix” myself — it was building a life that worked for my brain. For me, that looked like: 🌿 Eating in a way that fuels my body instead of crashing it. 🌞 Getting outside and moving my

Hiking with toddlers? Slow… but so much fun. They notice every little detail you’d normally walk straight past — a leaf, a rock, a stick that absolutely must come with us. It’s a completely different way of hiking, because for toddlers, it’s not about the destination at all. They will slow your hiking down but it’s much more memorable for everyone This was 7 km from the hut back to the car park, and it’s a pretty realistic snapshot of how long it actually takes us — with all the snack stops, sna
