This week in 1971, #IsaacHayes released his double album SHAFT. Recorded for both Stax Records and MGM, the album features "Theme from Shaft," "Soulsville," and more, with Hayes making a cameo in the Shaft film himself. The record was added to the National Recording Registry in 2014 for its historical and cultural significance.
