Thousands of orphaned baby bats are raised by volunteers across Australia each year and although the species may differ, raising methods remain consistent. All our little bat orphans are placed onto a mumma roll which replicates their mother's body before being swaddled in a wrap which provides warmth and security just like mum's wings. Baby bat season started last week, and we have been quite busy. This is just one of the 7 current big brown bat pups in care. Baby bats (called pups) are fed every 2–3 hours, depending on their age, species, and condition. Bat pups require specific heat, humidity, fluids, and milk formula to support healthy growth. Because of this we kindly ask that finders do not attempt offer any fluids or supplemental milk. We also discourage raising baby bats. There best chance of survival is with momma bat,
