Approximately 2.46 million people practice Kendo worldwide. Remarkably, about one-third of these practitioners (kendoka) are women. However, global participation is heavily concentrated, with Japan and Korea accounting for nearly 97% of all kendoka (roughly 1.8 million in Japan and 500,000 in Korea).
