Three former sheriff’s deputies in Virginia are charged with second-degree murder over the death of a man they restrained at a local jail.

Eric Baptiste, 39, is charged with second-degree murder and five counts of assault and battery; Michael Kidd, 39, is charged with second-degree murder and two counts of assault and battery; and Kevin Wilson, 34, is charged with one count of second-degree murder, according to the release.

All three deputies were charged with second-degree murder in the June 2024 death of inmate Rolin Hill. Two of the deputies also were indicted on assault charges.
