Large parts of England and Wales continue to be battered by heavy rain on Tuesday as the threat of flooding remains from Storm Herminia. The Met Office has a yellow weather warning for rain covering south Wales,

Storm Herminia was named by Spain’s weather service Agencia Estatal de Meteorología (Aemet) on Friday and has already torn through the north of the country and into France. Heavy rains and gusts of wind exceeding 62mph were recorded in northern Spain and it caused flooding in western France.

Storm Herminia has brought wind and heavy rain to much of Wales and southern England, with a major incident being declared in Somerset. More than 100 people have been evacuated in the south-western county following flooding in the early hours of Monday,

It comes after Storm Éowyn caused disruption on Friday and Saturday, including multiple power cuts and gusts of up to 93mph (159km/h). The Met Office said: "Periods of heavy rain could eventually lead to some flooding of roads and properties.

A series of flood warnings and alerts have been issued across the West Midlands as Storm Herminia hits parts of the UK. River levels in Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire and Warwickshire are expected to rise due to heavy wind and rain overnight.
