Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer are in discussions to leave Netflix and set up shop at Paramount, where they could make major tentpole movies.

Two of Netflix’s most valuable players may be heading to Paramount. Matt and Ross Duffer are eyeing an overall deal at the studio, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. The Duffers became name-brand creators when the first season of Stranger Things bowed in 2016 and has since become a crown jewel for the streaming service.

T he Duffer brothers, creators of Netflix’s marquee hit Stranger Things, are reportedly leaving Big Red for Paramount, per Puck’s Matthew Belloni. The fact that Netflix does not want to put movies in theaters is reportedly “the deal-breaker” for the Duffers.
