As the Tri-State braces for a weekend winter storm set to dump several inches of snow on the region, snow emergencies are likely on our horizon.

The Post assigned Cincinnati a subjective "winter storm-impact rating," which indicates the severity of the conditions expected from the storm, of 9 out of 10. The 12 cities were not ranked but instead listed roughly from west to east, which is the path of the storm. For the full list, see here.

Cincinnati says Department of Public Services crews will begin operating at 7 a.m. Saturday to clear streets. Cincinnati's Snowplow Tracker allows residents to check the status of the snow-clearing operations.

Andy Beshear declared a state of emergency in Kentucky Friday morning ahead of a major winter storm expected to bring heavy snow and ice amid dangerous cold to most of the state. This activates the state’s emergency response and price gouging laws to protect Kentuckians.

In a press conference on Friday January 23, Cincinnati City Manager Sheryl Long declared a snow emergency.
