Gov. Beshear’s conversion therapy, transgender Medicaid coverage veto overturned
The Kentucky General Assembly has overturned Gov. Andy Beshear's veto on House Bill 495, which will allow conversion therapy and ban Medicaid coverage for gender-affirming care.
In September 2024, Beshear signed an executive order to ban conversion therapy on minors, stating that the practice is ineffective, unethical and dangerous.
