The Cincinnati Bengals’ season is officially over. Today marks the final day of the NFL’s regular season and the Bengals needed two things to happen to make it to the playoffs: a Denver Broncos loss to the Kansas City Chief and a Miami Dolphins loss to or tie with the New York Jets.

The Chiefs had one piece of injury news worth monitoring: Cornerback Chamarri Conner, who returned after missing two weeks because of a concussion, left the game and didn’t return after hurting his shoulder.

With nothing but pride — and an NFL record-tying 16th regular-season win — to play for Sunday in Denver, the Kansas City Chiefs are doing the sensible thing in sitting multiple key starters.
