AUBURN, Ala. (AP) — Auburn quarterback Payton Thorne’s status is uncertain for Saturday’s game against Louisiana-Monroe. Tigers coach Hugh Freeze said Thorne did not practice during the open date last week after injuring his right, throwing shoulder in a loss to Vanderbilt and that it’s still not fully healed.

Quarterback Payton Thorne did not practice during the Tigers' bye week, head coach Hugh Freeze said Monday, as Thorne was sidelined with a shoulder injury he suffered against Vanderbilt on Nov. 2.

After not practicing during Auburn‘s bye week due to a shoulder injury, Payton Thorne said he is “good to go” for Auburn’s next game against Louisiana-Monroe. Thorne talked about his injury when speaking to reporters on Tuesday, giving an update on how his shoulder is recovering.

Emotions were high postgame for Auburn football following the 17-7 loss to Vanderbilt at Jordan-Hare Stadium. A brief scuffle ensued midfield as teams embraced afterwards leading to players being separated.
