The U.S. House advanced an effort on Friday to repeal an EPA rule that would effectively push gas-powered vehicles out of the U.S. marketplace.

The three Congressional Review Act resolutions, which would eliminate Biden administration rules and prevent similar rulemakings in the future, specifically targeted EPA’s power plant, particulate matter and heavy-duty vehicle tailpipe rules.

The U.S. House of Representatives on Friday voted narrowly to repeal clean vehicle rules adopted in March to cut fleetwide tailpipe emissions by 50% over 2026 levels by 2032. House Republicans said the Environmental Protection Agency's final regulation would effectively push gas-powered vehicles out of the U.
