Cops responded to the scene outside immigration court at Federal Plaza where protesters were sitting in the middle of the roadway blocking traffic.

The National Guard was deployed to Los Angeles County as anti-ICE protests continued to escalate Saturday afternoon and into the evening. The unrest is centered in the city of Paramount, California, where protesters clashed with federal authorities,

Earlier in the day, things also got tense as activists attempted to block a white van from leaving a building at Federal Plaza. One protester told CBS News New York's Adi Guajardo they were trying to block ICE from taking migrants from the building. It's unclear if there were migrants in that van.

The proposed policy would require the Santa Ana Police Department to post ICE notifications online within 48 hours of receiving them.
