Witnesses told police they overheard a conversation between the four men, with one of the suspects saying something along the lines of, “You don’t want it to go down like this.” They said that the same suspect then fired three shots into the ground before turning the gun on the victim.

Officers entered a vacant apartment building but retreated after spotting a suspect with a weapon. Both teen suspects fled the apartment and shot at officers. Officers fired back, hitting one suspect.

According to HPD, officers were responding to a report of a suspicious person with a weapon, when one officer fired their gun and struck the suspect.
