The National Hurricane Center is monitoring multiple areas, including Tropical Storm Dexter. Dexter formed on Sunday and is projected to remain a tropical storm in the Atlantic. However, the NHC is also keeping a close eye on two additional areas that have the potential for further development.

"The Tropics are heating up with 3 systems that we are monitoring," the agency warned, as it shared a map of the weather patterns sparking concern out at sea.

Debby pushed ashore as a Category 1 near Steinhatchee, Florida, on the morning of Aug. 5, 2024, then was downgraded to tropical storm status later in the day. Steering currents weakened shortly thereafter and the storm lingered near the Southeast coastal region for about three days.

Hurricane Debby made landfall in Steinhatchee, along the Big Bend region of Florida's Gulf coast, according to BayNews9. Around 135,000 people are already without power across the state, according to PowerOutage.

Hurricane Debby, the fourth named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season and the second named hurricane, has become a Category 1 storm, according to the National Hurricane Center.
