Saint Louis University on Wednesday released a statement regarding the fan altercation that delayed the Billikens' men's basketball game against VCU on Tuesday night at Chaifetz Arena.

A large brawl which appeared to involve at least a dozen fans broke out at a men’s college basketball game between Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) and Saint Louis University (SLU) on Tuesday, causing the game to be halted for a number of minutes.

With just a minute left during the Tuesday, Jan. 28 basketball game between Saint Louis University and Virginia Commonwealth University, a brawl broke out between fans — delaying the game for a full seven minutes, the New York Post reported.

A fight between fans in the stands near the Virginia Commonwealth University bench caused the Rams' Atlantic 10 Conference game with Saint Louis on Tuesday night to be delayed about seven minutes with 1:10 remaining in regulation.
