Judge Aileen Cannon suggested Friday she was not inclined to allow the Justice Department to share special counsel Jack Smith’s report on the classified documents case with Congress – at least for now.

Federal Judge Aileen Cannon ordered a Friday hearing to discuss releasing a DOJ report in the dismissed classified document case against Donald Trump.

Cannon’s ruling stated that Garland, the Department of Justice, Smith, and “all of their officers, agents, and employees, and all persons acting in active concert or participation with such individuals” could not publish any part of the report until three days after the Eleventh Circuit ruled on the case.

Meanwhile, congressional Democrats are pushing the attorney general to drop the charges against Trump’s co-defendants to cinch the dosser’s release.

The ruling means the volume of Smith’s report on the 2020 election case could be released any time after midnight.
