IBM closes $6.4B deal for HashiCorp after announcing DataStax deal, plans to boost cloud, security, AI capabilities.
With the deal, which was 10 months in the making, IBM plans to further integrate HashiCorp’s automation technology into its Red Hat, watsonx, data security, IT automation and consulting businesses. IBM uses Hashicorp technology in its cloud offerings already.

Along with Granite 3.2, IBM is also introducing next-gen TinyTimeMixers (TTM) models, which have fewer than 10M parameters and offer long-term forecasting capabilities. These models can be valuable for finance, supply chain demand forecasting, and retail inventory planning.
Granite 3.2 models are available on platforms like Hugging Face and IBM Watsonx.ai under the Apache 2.0 license.
