On Friday, the Braves introduced their newest signee. Outfielder Jurickson Profar met with the local media and talked about coming to Atlanta.

Among the Padres’ free agents, Profar, reliever Tanner Scott (Dodgers), catcher Kyle Higashioka (Rangers), infielder Donovan Solano (Mariners) and left-hander Martín Pérez (White Sox) have signed with new teams. Shortstop Ha-Seong Kim and outfielder David Peralta are still on the open market.

After pretending he was Andruw Jones or Chipper Jones in backyard games as a kid, Profar will be the Braves' everyday left fielder.

The Braves also signed Bryan De La Cruz to a one-year deal on Dec. 16 to add outfield depth, but the team otherwise had a quiet offseason before the addition of Profar. A switch-hitter, he will join Michael Harris, Jarred Kelenic, Eli White and De La Cruz as Atlanta's top outfielders.
