I-295 at Old St. Augustine Road was closed and backed up for hours after a crash Sunday afternoon that killed two people on motorcycles, according to law enforcement.

DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. – All lanes are blocked on Interstate 295 Southbound at Old St. Augustine Road in Duval County due to a crash. Traffic is being diverted and drivers are asked to move over or slow down.

The agency said the two motorcycles both occupying the left center lane had a "sideswipe type collision" around 1 p.m. Sunday.

Florida Highway Patrol Sergeant Dylan Bryan said one semi-truck involved in the crash became "engulfed in flames" when the collision happened.

A man died Tuesday morning after being hit by a truck towing a trailer on the exit ramp from Interstate 75 to State Road 47 in Columbia County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Jacksonville man was killed Sunday night while riding a motorcycle in Avondale. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the 47-year-old was speeding while heading northbound on U.S. 17 around 6:30 p.m. Another driver was riding in the opposite direction when she attempted to make a left turn onto Rensselaer Avenue.
