Captain Dylan Larkin powers Detroit to a come-from-behind 3–2 shootout win in Edmonton to start the Red Wings' road swing in style

The Edmonton Oilers saw their three-game winning streak come to an end on Thursday (Jan. 30), losing 3-2 to the Detroit Red Wings in a game decided by a shootout at Rogers Place.

Thursday was one of those days when the Oilers didn't have their best stuff, could have won but didn't and at least came away with a point.

Dylan Larkin tied it in the second period and scored in a shootout to help the Detroit Red Wings beat the Edmonton Oilers 3-2 on Thursday night.

The Red Wings improved to 12-4-1 under McLellan. The Oilers (32-15-4) had won three in a row and were 11-3-0 in their previous 14. They had won three in a row against the Red Wings and were 5-0-1 in past six meetings between the teams.

Finishing with a season-high 45 saves, goalie Alex Lyon helped the Red Wings (25-21-5; 55 points) earn their second straight multi-goal comeback win and third of the season. As for the Oilers (32-15-4; 68 points), they saw netminder Stuart Skinner make 33 saves.
