Royals joined veterans to commemorate VE Day at a remembrance service in Westminster Abbey and a star-studded concert.

Marking 80 years since the end of World War II in Europe, dozens gathered Thursday at the National World War II Memorial to commemorate Victory in Europe Day with a solemn ceremony honoring the sacrifice of Allied forces and the legacy of the “Greatest Generation.

The thanksgiving service at Westminster Abbey began with a two-minute silence, which was also observed across the country, to remember Nazi Germany's unconditional surrender, which took effect on May 8,
