While some wanted to see Minnesota sign Rodgers, the team opted to go in a different direction. Instead of bringing in the 41-year-old signal caller, the Vikings decided to roll with second-year quarterback J.J. McCarthy and hand the keys to the franchise over to the former Michigan standout.

The Minnesota Vikings could not be more confident in JJ McCarthy at quarterback, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. McCarthy will be the starter in 2025 in what Fowler described as a “three year window” to win a championship.
