Steven Asplund earned his spot on the UFC roster by producing a first-round finish on Dana White’s Contender Series earlier this year. During his appearance on the show, the UFC Vegas 112 star spoke about his remarkable weight loss. Asplund weighed in excess of 520lbs before turning his life around and becoming a UFC fighter.

Gibson Jr. (9-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC), son of UFC 24 and UFC 29 veteran Lance Gibson, will become the third second-generation fighter in UFC history after Randy Couture/Ryan Couture and Gilbert Smith/Elijah Smith. Gibson, 30, brings with him a 5-1 record as a Bellator fighter.
