According to Shelby County Sheriff John Samaniego, officers arrived to the 200 block of Narrows Drive on a mental pickup order for an older man when no one would answer the door. As a result, officers opened the door and “raked a window” to cause a distraction. The person inside then fired at deputies through the window.

Two men were found dead inside a home following a standoff where shots were fired in The Narrows area of Shelby County Tuesday morning. The incident began at about 8 a.m. when deputies were serving what Shelby County Sheriff John Samaniego described as a "mental pickup order" on a man in his early 70s at a home in the 200 block of Narrows Drive.
