KALAMAZOO, MI — A man was arrested and charged with open murder related to the death of a 68-year-old woman, police said. The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety announced on Thursday, Jan. 30, that officers arrested Marvin Delaney Humphrey, 53, a Kalamazoo resident, in connection with Minette Suzanne Weaver’s death on Nov. 25, 2024.

A Kalamazoo man has been charged in connection to a November homicide investigation. Thursday, Marvin Delaney Humphrey, 53, was formally charged with homicide - open murder, according to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS).

The suspect, 42-year-old Jerry Lee Harvey of Kalamazoo, is a relative of the victim, 32-year-old Jeromey Harvey, also from Kalamazoo.

Monday, Jerry Harvey, 42, of Kalamazoo, was charged with open murder, illegal entry and felony firearm in the death of Jeromey Harvey, 32, also of Kalamazoo, according to Kalamazoo County Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Jeff D. Williams and Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS).
