A brush fire erupted in Granada Hills Friday prompting evacuation orders that were later downgraded to warnings amid what fire officials described as “erratic winds.” The Archer Fire was reported shortly before 10:30 a.

The Archer fire broke out just after 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 10, near the 17000 block of Senson Boulevard in Granada Hills. The brush fire has burned one acre and is several miles west of the Hurst fire, which began Tuesday, Jan. 7, and has burned 771 acres in the Sylmar area.

LOS ANGELES - Firefighters quickly gained control of a brush fire that sparked Friday afternoon in Granada Hills. The Archer Fire burned 31 acres near Sesnon Boulevard and Meadowlark Avenue, near O'Melveny Park. Around 11:40 a.m., crews on the scene reported that forward progress had been stopped.
