The New York Knicks are considering a Los Angeles Lakers free agent for one of their open two-way roster slots, according to a new report. More news: 3 Free Age

Brogdon, who will turn 33 in December, has been a reliable rotation guard since entering the NBA as a second-round pick in 2016. He won Rookie of the Year honors during his first of three seasons in Milwaukee (2016-19), spent three years with the Pacers (2019-22), then was named Sixth Man of the Year with Boston in 2023.

It took a little longer than usual, but the NBA is fully on board with the Thunder being a main attraction. They're tied with the Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors and New York Knicks for the most national television games during the 2025-26 regular season at 34.

Brunson is arguably the best closer in the game. He won the Clutch Player of the Year award for a reason, and at the end of close games, the Knicks are absolutely going to continue to rely on Brunson to carry them. Still, there are plenty of other minutes in a game, and the Knicks need to do a better job of preserving him where they can.

Known for his shooting ability, he appeared in 50 games last year after his season debut was delayed by a shoulder injury.
