Google Play Protect Will Alert You About Malicious Android Apps
This active monitoring lets Google Play Protect identify potentially harmful apps that may attempt to conceal malicious behavior or remain inactive for a period before engaging in suspicious activity. The real-time alerts tell users immediately if a harmful app or scam call is detected and let them take action to protect their data and devices.
Google Play Protect to introduce pause feature
Google is reportedly working on a new feature for Play Protect that would allow users to temporarily pause the security service. This would make it easier for users to install apps from sources outside of the Google Play Store. According to a recent APK teardown, the pause button would let users halt Play Protect for a specified period.
Google’s Update Mistake—Do Not Change This New Play Store Setting
Google can’t really have it both ways—either Play Protect is critical or it isn’t. It’s the default response from Google when new malware strikes, telling users to make sure it’s enabled.
