Secret Service personnel shot an armed man near the White House early Sunday, hours after obtaining information that a possibly suicidal man might be traveling to Washington, D.C., from northern Indiana,

WASHINGTON, D.C., USA — The United States Secret Service shot an adult male Sunday, March 9 following an "armed confrontation" with law enforcement in Washington D.C., according to the agency. Washington D.C. police had reported a “suicidal individual” possibly traveling to D.C. from Indiana.

The law enforcement agencies stated that fortunately President Donald Trump was not present in the White House, when the incident took place. According to authorities, the Secret Service received information from local police about the alleged "suicidal individual" who was travelling from Indiana.
