Iranian supreme leader says issue of uranium enrichment remains key to Tehran’s pursuit of energy independence.

Iran has dramatically increased its stockpile of uranium needed to create nuclear weapons and has fallen short of compliance with international regulators, according to an IAEA report.

On Monday, an Iranian diplomat told Reuters Tehran was poised to reject a US proposal to end a decades-old nuclear dispute, dismissing it as a "non-starter" that fails to soften Washington's stance on uranium enrichment or to address Tehran's interests.
