Gov. Josh Shapiro said Thursday that two Pennsylvania State Police troopers were shot in Thompson, Susquehanna County.

Two Pennsylvania state troopers were shot in Susquehanna County on Thursday afternoon, according to Gov. Josh Shapiro, who broke the news during an event in Bucks County.

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the shooting of two state troopers on Aug. 7. According to a press release issued by the state police, the troopers were shot after responding to a call on Route 171 in northeastern Susquehanna County, around 5 miles north of the Town of Thompson.
