Disruptions to Amtrak service on the Northeast corridor are continuing due to a fire near a train route in New York City.

A fire that broke out near train tracks in the Bronx on Tuesday led to an suspension of all Amtrak service between NY Penn Station and New Haven that lasted through much of Wednesday, according to the transit agency,

The state Department of Environmental Conservation said the Jennings Creek brush fire was 20% contained as it entered its fifth day

A quarter of an inch of rain fell on the Jennings Creek fire early Monday morning, which helped crews get some much needed rest. The fire remains at about 3,000 acres and is 10% contained, officials said.
