Major League Soccer club Inter Miami fell under fire Tuesday morning when it was announced that Raul Sanllehi, its President of Football Operations, was leaving his post after just seven months.

Inter Miami underwent another front-office change last week as Guillermo Hoyos, a longtime Lionel Messi associate from his youth days in Barcelona, had his role expanded from director of player development and methodology of the second team to being directly involved in scouting and roster construction of the first team.

The Athletic confirmed the Sanllehi-Messi incident via an anonymous club source. Inter Miami issued a statement saying that the Sanllehi decision was "pre-planned" and not a response to the exchange on the bus, per the original report from GiveMeSport’s Tom Bogert.
