As of Sunday, at least 38 adults and 21 children have been confirmed dead in Kerr County, with additional deaths reported in nearby counties. Eleven girls and a counselor from the all-girls Camp Mystic, a beloved summer spot of many D-FW area children for nearly a century, remain missing.

Texas was ravaged by flash floods over the Independence Day weekend. These floods have hit Kerr County the hardest, with at least 59 people dying in that region alone. President Donald Trump as issued a major disaster declaration for Kerr County in response.

The NWS told Mirror US it advised of potential flooding ahead of time and then sent out a series of flash flood warnings in the early hours of Friday.
