Starring Pete Davidson in his first dramatic leading role, The Home is a psychological thriller that speaks to greater themes of personal trauma and generational abuse. Just like his other films, DeMonaco says the project gave him a story in which to work out his own narratives—a throughline present all the way to his youth.
As a young teen, Davidson — now 31 and expecting his first child — worked as a busboy at a local Italian restaurant DeMonaco frequented. They stayed friends over the years, and when DeMonaco needed a lead for his horror film, he knew Davidson would be right for the role.
