Angel Yin held off a furious charge from a rising LPGA Tour rookie to capture her second career win, this time in Thailand.

Angel Yin had a five-shot lead going into the final round of the Honda LPGA Thailand and an 80.7 percent chance to win. Yet, it was anything but an easy Sunday stroll at the Siam Country Club. The 26-year-old Yin lost her outright lead on the back nine as she fell into a tie with Japanese rookie sensation Akie Iwai,

Yin’s 28-under-par total 260 (67-64-64-65) is the lowest winning score in the history of the LPGA, topping Annika Sorenstam’s previous record by a shot set in 2001. She earned $255,000 for the first-place check from an overall $1.70 million purse.
