The Essex County Prosecutor's Office is investigating the death of a 6-year-old child in Newark, New Jersey. The girl's mother has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child. Prosecutor say detectives responded Monday to call of a child who had died at an apartment complex on Stratford Place.

A 13-year-old girl has appeared in court charged with murdering a woman whose body was found after a house fire. Northamptonshire Police said the body was discovered at a property in Wellingborough, in the early hours of Monday morning. Detectives believe the victim was Marta Bednarczyk, 43, a mother of three children.
