EY India chairman Rajiv Memani has expressed regret at not attending the funeral of a 26-year-old employee whose death was blamed on stress by her mother, and said he will not rest till achieving the goal of harmonious workplace.

Rajiv Memani, the India Head of Ernst and Young has responded to the letter addressed to him by the mother of Anna Sebastian Perayil, the EY Pune employee who died due to overwork and professional stress.

Perayil, who joined EY in March, died on July 20. The incident came to light earlier this week after her mother Anita Augustine's open letter to the company went viral. In the letter, Augustine claimed that no one from EY attended her daughter's funeral and alleged that Perayil succumbed to "work pressure.
