FBI investigation of a Virginia man led to what the agency calls its largest-ever seizure by number of finished explosive devices.

Brad Spafford, 36, from Isle of Wight County, Virginia, has been apprehended and charged with having the largest stockpile of homemade explosives ever found by the FBI. A federal judge approved his bond at a hearing on 30 December but suspended the order while awaiting a government appeal.

The FBI uncovered over 150 homemade explosive devices, the largest cache in its history, at the Virginia home of Brad Spafford, who faces charges of weapon possession and endangering public safety. Spafford's disturbing political comments and reckless handling of explosives have led prosecutors to deem him a severe community threat.
