A Boeing Co. 787 Dreamliner aircraft operated by Air India that was bound for London crashed shortly after taking off in Ahmedabad, in what stands to be the worst accident involving the US planemaker’s most advanced widebody airliner.

A passenger jet carrying over 240 people crashed shortly after takeoff in India. Air India Flight AI 171, bound for London's Gatwick Airport, had just left an airport in the city of Ahmedabad. Its signal reportedly was lost at an altitude of 625 feet,
