While it's unclear if all of Trump's threats to heavily tax imports from various countries into the US will materialise, his administration has already announced a trade policy that includes a 10% tariff on goods imported from China.

It sounds like the price hike may not affect desktops, as Chen told The Telegraph that Acer had moved its desktop computer manufacturing outside China during Trump’s earlier tariffs during his first term. He said Acer might now consider moving some of its laptop manufacturing outside China too, with US manufacturing as “one of the options.”

Taiwanese computer giant Acer has said it will increase costs across the board 10% as a direct result of Trump’s tariffs. The tariffs won’t affect anything that leaves China before the end of February, but as we move into March you can expect the prices on Acer’s laptops, monitors, and other components to rise.
