Southern parts of Connecticut are under a heat advisory for Friday when temperatures will soar into the 90s with heat index values over 100.
Chief meteorologist Mark Dixon said a severe thunderstorm warning was issued for part of the state on Friday afternoon.
A flood warning is in effect for today as hot weather is also rolling into Connecticut. Gov. Ned Lamont has also activated the extreme hot weather protocol beginning Tuesday afternoon to help residents combat the expected heat.
